2010: Break the Mold? Or More of the Same..?

CalendarAt the end of an old year, and for a few days of the new, we reflect on what will be meaningful, compelling and profitable in the coming 12 months.  Business resolutions are made, themes are considered, the pundits’ “Top Predictions” are solemnly pondered and then…

…we tend to go right back to business as we were conducting it during November of the previous year.

Here are a few tips to beat complacency this month:   thinking

  • Form an internal accountability team.  A trusted peer group  can help you make meaningful commitments and stay on track, week after week.
  • What’s your “extra” contribution this month?  What does your company want to explore, but hasn’t experimented with yet?
  • Which internal or external client is open to (or even eager for) something new?  What can you try in a quiet but meaningful way?

Winners break the mold and experiment; they aren’t seduced into staying safe and repeating the familiar.  Explore something new this week and start 2010 off right!
